The junk news pandemic continues unchecked, apparently infecting the film unit of the otherwise trustworthy Economist magazine. Its most recent video, Why is America’s death toll so high?, opens with a clip announcing “America has passed the grim milestone of 20,500 deaths to overtake Italy as the world’s worst-hit nation.” Of course it has overtaken Italy in terms of total deaths — it has over five times the population of Italy!
